Thought:
Read 2 Corinthians 3;1-2 this morning. Some of those who were criticizing Paul had letters of recommendation from the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem. Paul did not have any letters of recommendation written on beautiful paper. Paul says that the church at Corinth is his letter written on the heart, not paper or stone, and not just for the reader, but for everyone to see. Think about that today--whose letter are you? Is the letter of your life written on paper or on the heart? Is the letter of your life written as a testimony to the world of the goodness and grace of God or simply a nice biography suitable for an obituary?

This passage always reminds me of Ephesians 2:20, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works." The word "workmanship is the word "poeima" from which we get the word poem. You are a poem being written by Jesus, a poem to the world illustrated with good works He has prepared beforehand. Maybe your life is a poem set to music--a hymn, a praise song. So today, what does the world read in the poem of your life? What does the world hear in the hymn of your life? We used to sing, "there's within my heart a melody, Jesus whispers sweet and low, fear not I am with you peace be still if all of life's ebb and flow. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know; fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go." I wonder if that's what the world sees and hears today in my life--the melody of Jesus.

This morning, take a look at the letter your life is writing; think about the poem the world is reading; consider the song that enters the room with you---is it Jesus?

Blessings
Larry
