Thought:
Reading a very familiar passage today in Jeremiah 29. I wonder how many sermons have been preached on this verse [29:11]. I wonder how many students/graduates have heard this verse at their Baccalaureate. For me, I am so encouraged by the word of God spoken here:
  • God--the Creator filled with all love, all wisdom, all power, all compassion, all grace, all mercy. He is the one who has created this plan. The One who knows everything, is everywhere, and can do anything has developed a plan for me.
  • Has plans---His plans are complete, perfect, for my good and His glory. His timing is perfect, so I wait upon the Lord.
  • His plans are for my well being--certainly my spiritual well-being and often for my physical well being. Following His plans will lead me to Him and not to calamity.
  • His plans give me a future and a hope. Ignoring His plans, deviating from His plans, rejecting His plans lead to bad places and bad results. Following His plans lead me to a bright and glorious future with Him. In His plan, all my hopes become reality because my hope is secured by Jesus and He alone is my hope.
  • If I seek God and His plan with all my heart--He hears my prayers and I will find my resting place in Him.
That is a plan for a great day, week, month, year, life--Lord, help me seek you with a whole heart.

Blessings
Larry
