Thought:
Today and tomorrow, I will be thinking about Mark 5:22-43 and the two stories told here. Today, I am thinking about the interruption. This passsage begins with Jesus being called to the house of Jairus whose daughter was dying. On the way to his house Jesus has an interruption, a delay.

There is a woman with a hemorrhage. She had suffered with it for 12 years. She had spent all her money, but the doctors had not healed her., instead she had gotten worse. Somehow she heard about Jesus. Notice, she had one thought--if I can only touch His robe, I will be healed. Touching the robe, she was immediately healed and knew it.  Mission accomplished in secret, now just slip away. But wait, Jesus has felt something too--power. WHO? The disciples think only about the crowd, but Jesus sees the woman [He already knew who, just wanted her to admit that she was the one with faith]. Go and be healed!

Have you ever been where the woman was. Maybe it was not a health issue, but you have something that you could not fix, something you could not correct. And you had asked for help, but no one seemed to be able to help you. Then you remembered what you had heard about Jesus--Jesus can meet every need, handle any problem, nothing is impossible with Him. What I have found is that sometimes Jesus miraculously solves the problem. Other times He reminds me that I have been worrying about the wrong thing, praying the wrong prayer, seeking the wrong solution. Larry, you need to trust me more; or Larry you need to change your thoughts, your attitudes; or Larry you are thinking only about yourself, ask what would give Me glory, what would be good for others involved. And He is faithful to give His peace, restore my joy, remove my fear and doubt. I think I just need to become like this woman--desperate to touch Him, know Him, because in that relationship--all is well. Or as Horatio Spafford says--"It is well with my soul."

Blessings
Larry
