Thought:
Finishing the book of Jude today. Verses 24-25 always challenge and inspire me. Think about these verses as a way to dedicate your day. Jude uses them as a dedication at the end of his letter. For me, they contain all I need for my day today.

The verses yesterday talked about mockers and believers. Believers were instructed to build themselves in faith, pray, keep in the middle of God's love by obeying and loving others, and wait expectantly for His coming. Jude starts his benediction by reminding us of who Jesus is and what He can do:
  • Jesus is the only God. Jesus is God. That truth alone changes everything. God cannot lie so every thing Jesus said is truth. God cannot die--so Jesus is life. God is love--so Jesus living in me is love to be shared. Our faith is built on the fact that Jesus is God, the only true and living eternal God.
  • Jesus is our Savior. He is not God in the distance. He is God who came to earth to save you and me. He is God that took on flesh and paid for my sin debt. He is the God that defeated death and the grave so that the sinner could be a saint.
  • Jesus is our Lord. He bought us with a price we could not pay. So all our love, devotion, obedience, worship, praise is due to Him and Him alone--for He alone is worthy.
  • Jesus can keep me from stumbling. His light, His word, His guide, His way keep me on the right path. Trusting His promises and following His example keep me from stumbling. And when I stumble, His hand lifts me, renews me, refreshes me, forgives me.
  • Jesus gives me the hope of glory and eternal joy. He is the only one that can allow me to stand before the throne of God blameless--covered by His righteousness.
  • Jesus will have all glory, all majesty, all dominion, all authority--He had it in the beginning when He created all things. He has it now as King Jesus. He will have it forever as King of kings and Lord of lords. And He shall reign forever and ever.
Now what else do I need for today? Nothing for in Jesus all the riches of God are there in abundance. He is all sufficient for every need, now and forever.

Blessings
Larry
